Charity class every 8 pm Tuesday
We call our Tuesday 8 pm class our Karma class. Karma is a sanskit word that is the concept of “action” or “deed” and is understood to mean that which underlies the entire cycle of cause and effect. In modern times, it may be seen as simply “reap what you sow”.

General

i started Bikram Yoga classes, July 2007. i must admit that the first month of three classes per week was really a challenge for me. First was the discipline of waking up earlier than usual, getting to my 8:30am class on time, not to mention focusing and concentrating on myself doing the postures right for 90 minutes. My body was struggling, going against each posture. I could feel the pain and soreness all over.

Undaunted by all this, I pushed myself to the limit, and on my second month, I attended four times a week. At this time, I noticed I could so some postures, and also noticed that I lost weight. Now on my fifth month, I feel more relaxed, more peaceful, more focused. I sleep earlier and wake up earlier too. At the start of the year, I gifted myself with a one
year unlimited yoga package, something I am most passionate about, and a way of life I truly espouse.

I thank my teachers at Bikram Yoga Manila for bearing with me all this time. Without their guidance and patience I would not be where I am.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First off -- people have super noticed how much weight i've lost. and how my posture seems a lot better. The primary and ONLY reason that got me into yoga in the first place is for weight loss. So that earns a check in my list of to do's.

But the most pleasant surprise are the things I got aside from weight loss.

1. I've made friends.

2. I feel so much better about myself (not just in the fact that I lost weight). Feel better in the sense that I have this sense of achievement that I cannot put my finger on what to call it exactly. Maybe sense of confidence in being able to do the poses and notice improvements along the way.

I started out bringing face towel to class and constantly wiping myself all throughout class. Then I got rid of that towel. I used to finish 1 liter of water during class. Then i got to reduce it meaning i have less "extra curricular" movements. I used to scratch and fidget then that got lessened to almost none on good days.

All of these in a span of 1 year. To call it something - - closest I can think of is -- I've become more disciplined.

3. I'm more patient. I still give in to a bit of road rage but I was worst before yoga came into my life.

4. I've found something I can see myself doing for a long time. I've never had any kind of exercise or sports that I was able to sustain longer than 6 months. I've enrolled in slimmers, fitness, etc. But I just could not get into the habit of it. Yoga - - I look for it now.

Anyways, this can go on and on. But point is - - I want to thank you for these things.
